Introduction to Winter Mountaineering
Focusing on the basic winter skills, crampon and ice axe work, snow and avalanche awareness.
Our “Introduction to winter mountaineering” courses are set in the heart of the Lake District in Langdale just out of Ambleside and in Aviemore, Scottish Highlands. The course is aimed at active hill and mountain walkers with little or no winter experience.
Available with or without accommodation.

• Weather forecasts
• Route selection
• Winter movement
• Navigation
• Ice axe and crampon use
• Snow formation and avalanche assessments
• Winter summit days
• Security on steeper ground

£230 (With two nights High quality Bed & Breakfast Accommodation)
£325 (With two nights 3* Hotel Accommodation)
A bespoke course for up to six participants is also available for £600
